The All New Wyrley Colts came out fighting after last weeks’ mixed results with 2 impressive wins without team mascot Wyrley Bear, following an altercation with West Bromwich Albion’s Baggie Bird in Wolverhampton earlier this morning. he good news was that Wyrley Bear did get away with just a pecked ear and half a dozen of Baggie’s tail feathers!
Pendeford Santos 0-2 Wyrley Colts
Colts met Pendeford Santos for the first time this season and scored within 12 SECONDS from the kick-off thanks to a Matty Paulton sliding shot – the teams fastest every goal in their history! The Colts piled on the pressure with a bag full of shots on target and all spctacularly saved by the Santos goalie, though it was a second from Matty Bestall that wrapped up the match.
Wyrley Colts 6-0 FC Perton Panthers
Game 2 hosted FC Perton Panthers and, as with Santos, the Colts carved up the Panthers’ midfield and again, Matty Paulton fired home their first to take an early lead. The second half saw precision passing, strong midfield and an advancing Colts defence to bolster the scoreline. Goals came thick and fast from Tommy Farrow and Matty Bestall, with Matty Paulton completing his hat-trick.
The Colts have trained hard this weekend and have reduced their gosl difference and earned themselves six valuable points. Fantastic work lads, we’re all VERY proud of you!
