Wyrley continued there excellent form on Saturday with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Penkridge Town at the Red Lion Ground.
Wyrley made one change from the side that had one away at Ettingshall with Dan Martin replacing John Littler who has left the club to join Pelsall Villa and they started the game at a very high pace. Tom Lowe and Chris Geldart were very lively in attack puling the Penkridge Town defence all over the place and it was Geldart who got the break through after 30 minutes. After some excellent work down the right hand side between Lee Charles, Danny Dolman and Tom Lowe the ball was fed into Geldart and he hit a great strike from 25 yards into the bottom corner of the net. Even though Wyrley then continued to dominate the first half they could not turn the pressure into goals and they went in at the break 1-0 up.
Straight from the kick off in the second half Wyrley extended their lead after some brilliant football. The ball was knocked back to Paul Yeomans who squared it to right back Jamie Fowler. Fowler fed Lee Charles who exchanged passes with Danny Dolman before the ball was laid into Tom Lowe on the edge of the box. Lowe brilliantly then found Dolman who had continued his run and he smashed the ball home from just inside the area.
Strangely this goal seemed to kick start Penkridge and Lee Holliday was called into action twice and made two excellent saves before Dolman wrapped up the points with 20 minutes to go. Lee Charles delivered a great cross from the right and as the Penkridge keeper came to collect it Dolman rose in front of him and glanced his header past him and in off the post.
Wyrley now have a break from league action on Saturday when they face Cheadle Town in the Staffs Challenge Cup in a 1.30 kick off at the Red Lion Ground.
