Wyrley Tigers U10 v Sporting Khalsa
Before the game started we knew it was going to be difficult but the boys came out heads high and fought valiantly.
The Tigers didn’t falter even after falling behind to a rare attack from Khalsa. Joe T in goal made some superb saves along with support from the supreme duo of Scott and Will holding the fort in defence. Khalsa found it hard to find a way through the pair’s grit and determination.
Jack and Aran held them up in midfield making their presence known as well as laying off passes to Rodda and Tom on the wings. This played fantastically and set Jake up to score a scorcher of a goal.
Luke played a blinder making assist after assist. Attacking down the wings, putting himself in the right place at the right time – unfortunately just missing the back of the net.
Sporting Khalsa are a team to be reckoned with in the league with tough tackling and strength being their forte. The Tigers fought valiantly and should have come out on top and we are extremely proud of them.
Wyrley Tigers U10 v Lane Head Tigers
Again pre-match this was set to be a tough fight for our Tigers. The lads attacked the game from the off – no signs of any doubt or nerves shown by our team. Jake putting the ball away after a solo ball into the box.
Lane Head hardly got near our goal as the solid pairing of Scott and Will made it near impossible to find the area with their superb defending skills. This didn’t stop the defenders from attacking and pushing forwards strengthening the Tigers attack.
Rodda played a blinder on the wing and a free kick awarded before half time allowed him to test out his new boots and slot home a well-deserved corker!
Aran and Jack again held up the midfield and passed the ball superbly up front as well as integrating with the defenders making Lane Heads job a lot harder!
Kyle and Luke played very well – in the right place at the right time and setting up goals and running circles around Lane Heads defence! These boys have made such tremendous improvement and it is showing in their footballing ability! Great game boys.
Tom played a cracking game, gaining a well deserved goal into the back of the net before half time – boosting his teams moral. A well deserved ending for the teams fantastic efforts throughout the game.
Second half bought 2 soft goals to Lane Head with a disputed penalty and free kick both going in. Despite the amazing efforts of Joe. T who kept the Tigers in the game with some brilliant saves.
The lads showed true grit and determination through positive team work to get the goals and support each other. A true Team effort, if you want to see teamwork at its finest look no further.
