The Club has reached the season mid point with a record number of 39 teams and 2 successful thriving academies in place.
We currently have 10 teams in the top 3 of their leagues but as usual the clear success is having nearly 700 players in the black and white stripes of Wyrley Juniors. The club is already planning ahead for next season – any teams looking to join theclub will be very welcome.
Highlights of the first half include: –
Staffordshire FA awarding us Community Club of the Year for the 3rd time in 6 years
Planning permission received for our development of Long Lane. Our Business Plan for the major chunk of funding is now with the Football Foundation for their consideration.
New mower and fencing at Harrisons Ground.
A thriving and well used website.
The 4 main Club awards presented by families of the trophy donors.
The sad news was clearly the death of Liam Keeling, who died from meningitis at the young age of 13. We have a number of events planned to support Meningitis UK and our thoughts are with Andy and Georgina. We also heard of the ill health of ex Vice Chairman Colin Boon and we wish him well in his recovery.

Wyrley Juniors FC First team v Walsall FC Old Boys in aid of Meningitis UK – 31st January 2010 at Gt Wyrley FC 2.00 kick off.
Our 13th annual Tournament is already well into the planning stage and set for 19th and 20th June – our traditional 3rd weekend in June date.
We intend to send a party of coaches to Africa to coach underprivileged children.
We have bids in for funding to complete the fencing at Harrisons Ground.
